Kaplow enjoyed a day of fun in the sun last week at Morry’s Camp. Liz, Evan and five members of the Kaplow Team traveled two hours north of Manhattan to conduct a workshop on casual video with 23 rising high school juniors.
Morry’s Camp is the residential summer camp experience that is a component of a year-round youth development program hosted by the Project Morry organization. The camp is situated on a beautiful 900-acre lot in the hills overlooking the Delaware River and features a plethora of activities including playing fields, swimming pool, lake, hiking trails, basketball courts, Adventure Course, fine arts pavilion, tree house, music studio, Educational Clubhouse, computer labs and a fully-stocked library. Project Morry offers unique experiences to kids that help build their self-esteem, create a support network, enhance their social skills and promote personal responsibility.
Kaplow kicked off the day with an introduction to the public relations industry, followed by a short presentation on the merits of casual video for both consumer and personal brands. After lunch, the kids worked in groups led by a Kaplow employee to create and film their own casual videos promoting Project Morry. The creative juices flowed, and the kids produced a variety of videos that featured different areas of camp, songs and personal experiences that tugged at everyone’s heart strings.
A very special thanks goes out to Dawn, Lance and the kids at Project Morry who helped make our workshop successful.
We also thank the Kaplow Team: Liz Kaplow, Evan Jacobs, Marisa Abdoo, Meghan Cross, Samantha Kaufman, Victoria Gaunt and Mandy Hjellming.
