Although spring is still in the air, the new summer collection – Whim by Cynthia Rowley for Target – gave off a little hotcynthia rowley hot heat on April 24th when launched in stores.

Prior to the in-store launch, Kaplow hosted more than 50 editors representing 35 publications at the Target Studio in mid-town Manhattan for a preview of the new summer collection. The Kaplow Target team greeted editors from Redbook, Better Homes & Gardens, O at Home and Family Circle. Editors snacked on picnic fare such as s’mores and lemonade while they checked out the new line – everything from to cooking aprons to madras swimming pools. Cynthia’s new collection for Target was especially met with enthusiasm by the editors. One guest noted “It has everything you need for the summer!”

The press preview of Whim by Cynthia Rowley for Target created a groundswell of pre-launch buzz for the collection with key placements in Metropolitan Home, Everyday with Rachael Ray, Family Circle and Redbook.

BugvilleKaplow helped our Spin Master toy company client celebrate the launch of their new Bugville Butterfly TreeHouse with a life-sized butterfly exhibit of 2,000 live Painted Lady butterflies on the outdoor plaza of the CBS Early Show on May 3rd. The screened-in studio became a fluttering, colorful backdrop for the weather segment and for the closing shots of this nationally broadcast program.

The Kaplow team collaborated with the CBS Early Show producers to create the outdoor venue and arrange for two butterfly-filled segments during the morning broadcast, both featuring our client spokesperson.

CBS Early Show weekend weather anchor, Lonnie Quinn – with butterflies resting on his lapel and hands – interviewed Donna MacNeil, Senior Director of Communications for Spin Master, about the butterflies and the launch of the Bugville Butterfly TreeHouse. Donna delivered some great insights on the butterflies and about the habitat being an educational tool that allows children to observe the changes that caterpillars make on their way to becoming butterflies.

It was a cold, damp morning in New York City, but you would never have known it from all the activity in our butterfly tent – and we’re thankful to the CBS Early Show for helping bring it to life!
