eBay
A snapshot of our six years with eBay
The eBay Showhouse
We gave eight top interior designers a budget and a room and told them to start bidding.
Their work became the eBay Showhouse, a design emporium in a beautiful Manhattan townhouse
showcasing the breadth and depth of product offerings on the eBay. The results landed in the
New York Times, on Good Morning America and TODAY-as well as served as the basis for a
documentary on A&E Networks. All of eBay's users got to partake-by being invited to purchase
every piece that appeared in the Showhouse-through a charity auction which concluded
the event.
U.S. of eBay
We invited an eBay small business user from every state to come to Washington D.C. and partake
in the first-ever "United States of eBay Small Business Summit." eBay executives were on hand
to hear their individual experiences and spread news of the site's efforts to buoy entrepreneurs.
Style Squad
Kaplow introduced the eBay Style Squad-the ultimate "editors" for all things eBay. When it
comes to Fashion and Style, Jewelry, Home Dècor or the latest gadgets-Constance White, Sandy
Graham, Shawn Henderson and Cat Schwartz, respectively, know how to show consumers and
media how to shop the site to best effect. TODAY, Entertainment Tonight, USA Today, House
Beautiful and Life&Style are just some of the outlets that rely on their wisdom and expertise.
7th on Sale Online
Kaplow brought eBay together with the biggest names in fashion for 7th on Sale Online. Making
this connection led to unprecedented relationships, consumer buzz, and $1.7 million for HIV/AIDS
awareness. eBay partnered with the Council of Fashion Designers of America, Dolce & Gabbana,
Kenneth Cole Productions, Polo Ralph Lauren and VOGUE to create the largest sample sale ever
on the Internet. The sale kicked with a black-tie gala party, which drew VIPs including Donna
Karan, Michael Kors, Jennifer Lopez and Scarlett Johansson.
